The 98th Academy Awards are less than 24 hours away. Oscar night has been an important part of my life for two decades. There's something magical about how the classic Hollywood glam renews the inspiration for what life and art can be.
Every time I see or here someone complain about the runtime of the show, part of me dies. I want it all. I want every category aired live. I don't need the pinnacle of an artist's career to be cut short by the band. Let them say what they want for however long they want during acceptance speeches. Anyone watching the Oscars casually does not care about film the way diehards do. And that's ok. But I'm here for the excessive "Why we love movies" montages every single year, if only for the hope to make something featured in one someday down the line.
